If you are reading this, you might be someone who feels like following your dreams is hard. Maybe you do not know what you want or what your dream is. Maybe you know what you desire, but your inner voice of self-doubt pops up anytime you take action toward this reality.
Regardless of what your relationship is like with achieving what you desire in life, know that you are worthy of experiencing and creating the life you feel called to live.
Getting Curious About What You Want
Knowing what you want may feel hard, especially if you have never really asked yourself what you want. Perhaps you have spent most of your life people-pleasing to keep the peace, or comparing yourself to others to find belonging and approval.
Start by understanding what you want and allowing those things to be different than others without feeling like you are wrong because your desires are different. Then you can begin to create space and connection to what you truly see for yourself in your life.
You Are Not the Exception to the Rule
Perhaps something that runs through your mind is that you are the exception to the rule. This could sound like believing that everyone gets to feel good, confident, empowered, and able to take action toward their dreams except for you.
It can be helpful to question where this belief came from and allow yourself to let this limiting belief go. You can do this by releasing that which does not serve you and your highest purpose. When you can release this belief, you can begin to create new beliefs. This may feel hard to do at first, but you are worthy of feeling good and capable of achieving what you desire, so keep working toward that belief.
Taking Action
To create new ways of being for yourself that are congruent with your authentic needs and desires, action must be taken. When cultivating change in your life, you may experience resistance. It is important to remember that resistance is not a signal to stop, but a green light telling you to continue leaning into what feels unfamiliar, because that is where change happens.
Leaning into uncertainty in the pursuit of a life you do not feel like you need to run away from is a great act of self-compassion. Through getting curious about what you want, rewriting the stories you tell yourself, and taking action, you can build self-trust and self-confidence that allows you to reach your goals.
